SHIP DIVERTED
OFFICER SERIOUSLY INJURED. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Jan. 25. The coastal steamer Kakapo, en route from Westport to Auckland, has l>een diverted from her course to New Plymouth because of serious injuries to an officer. Other than a wireless message advising this, details are meagre. Though the ship was nearer Westport than New Plyinouth when the decision to change course was made, the Kakapo could not turn hack because of the heavy southerly weather.
