POLISHED WOOD VOGUE.

Highly polished wooden candlesticks are a vogue in table and mantel decoration, says a London correspondent. You can get them in all shapes and sizes in different woods. Sometimes two woods are used together, such as walnut and maple. There are branch candlesticks, or five in a row, single sticks made of round balls of wood piled in diminishing size on top of one another, and many other designs. All take into consideration the decorative value of grain of the wood.
