FIREMEN INJURED.

EXPLOSION AT OUTBREAK. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Jan. 26. Fireman John Ching, single, aged 23, was admitted to hospital to-day suffering from injuries to his eyes sustained while attending a fire at the residence of Mr J. J. Meuli, in Carlton Terrace. Fireman Gordon Campbell, married, aged 32, was injured in the face, but after treatment at the hospital returned to bis quarters at the central station. A glass jar in the washhouse, containing some benzine, exploded and Ching. who was working on a branch with Campbell, got the full force in the face.
