The Leader cf the Opposition (Mr C. It. Attlee), Sir Walter Citrine (General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress) and Mr P. J. Noel Baker urged that Britain should take the lead in effective concerted action by the Powers to bring the conflict to an end. Mr Chamberlain, in reply, explained in detail the very close way in which the British Government was following the developments of the situation.
