The Japanese admit that they have evacuated Hoshien, but deny that it represents a withdrawal.--They say that the mopping-up operations have been completed and the Chinese will again be ousted if they reoccupy it. The Japanese spokesman alleged that Chinese dumps were found on adjoining compounds of foreign Embassies when Nanking was occupied. He added that many Chinese troops took refuge in the Embassies. -
