HOUSING CONSTRUCTION.

DESIRE FOR CO-OPERATION. Per Press Association. PAHIATUA, Jan. 25. When Mr J. A. Lee and Mr A. H. Tyauall (Director of Housing) visited Pahiatua yesterday and gave an undertaking that the construction of a dozen houses would begin as soon as a reasonable tender was received from the contractors. Mr Lee commented that they had previously experienced trouble in having the building done at a reasonable price. He also deprecated objections made in towns where the department was trying to help, intimating that tlie department would push ahead with the scheme whenever it received cooperation.
