SCOTS SOCIETY PICNIC.

The Manawatu Scottish Society’s annual picnic, which was held at Awapuni on Saturday, attracted a large attendance and the various races, competitions and novelties maintained the interest throughout the day. At the conclusion, Mrs J. S. Jenkinson, wife of the. chief of the society, presented the prizes. The sports committee was as followr,: Messrs J. S. Jenkinson, J. Medway, F. Duckworth and L. Cooper. Dulcie McLean won the Scottish Society’s cup for Highland dancing. In the Highland fling competition Isobel Anderson was first, while Betty Walker won the sword dance. Music for the dancing was played by Piper Patterson.
