Marooned since Sunday, a fishermen, including several Palmerston North residents,, are reported to be in an awkward plight on Kapiti Island. _ ~ The party included Messrs T. Green, AV. Williamson and B. Christensen, but tlie last-named was fortunate enough to return to Paraparaumu on Saturday night, when the weather conditions had not changed, and did not go back to Kapiti that evening. However, when the weather suddenly became bad. heavy seas were -soon running, cutting off access by launch to Kapiti Island on Sunday. No word had been received to-day of the marooned party, and it was believed that rough seas still prevented their being taken off the island. However, they would not want for food or shelter, because there are residents on the island. The visitors had been engaged in fishing off the north end of Kapiti.
