AUSTRALIAN CELEBRATIONS.
LORD GALWAY’S HOPES. SYDNEY, Jan. 24. Lord Galway (Governor-General of New Zealand), in an interview, said that occasions such as the New South Wales anniversary celebrations emphasised the strong bonds which held tho Empire together, and added to their strength. He hoped that when New Zealand was celebrating its centenary, a cordial welcome would be extended to Australians, which would enable them to accept as New Zealanders were doing on this occasion. Lord Galway will visit Canberra and Melbourne. Lord and Lady Galway were met on arrival by Lord Rr/furly, representing the Governor-General, also Sir Earle Page and the Deputy-Premier (Mr M. Bruxner). Lord and Lady Galway will stay at Admiralty House with Lord Gowrie.
