JAPAN SEEKS NICKEL.
SOUTH AFRICAN PROJECT. TOIvIO, Jan. 11. The Furukawa Mining Company, through its subsidiary, the Overseas Enterprise Institute, has completed a survey of nickel and copper deposits in South Africa and Rhodesia. This lias proved satisfactory, especially so far as nickel is concerned, and the Furukawa Company is negotiating for the acquisition of the ores by a method like that which a Japanese company, is exploiting the iron at Ynmpi Sound (Western Australia) through a British holding company.
