WEATHER AFFECTS SPORT.

SYDNEY’S EXPERIENCE. Received January 24, 8.5 a m SYDNEY, Jan! 23. The weather in Sydney on Saturday was dismal, showery and blustery, and it prevented play in the Sheffield Shield match, New South Wales against Victoria. It also “washed out” the bowls carnival, although some singles games had commenced but were interrupted, causing numerous forfeits. It partly spoiled all other forms of sport. A few games of bowls were played on Saturday between the showers and on sodden greens. The New Zealander, W. Bremner, had two consecutive wins, 21—10 and 21 —8. Davis lost 9 —21, and Robertson lost 11—21.
