The recent anti-cyclone is passing eastwards off the North Island and a rather intense westerly depression is crossing the South Island. Pressure is rising in eastern Australia. The forecast is for strongly northerly to westerly winds of gale force, at times backing to southerly after about 24 hours. The eather will be changeable and equally with scattered rain and cooler to-morrow. The sea will be rough. RIVER GAUGE Noon. —lft 9in.
