THE CITY’S WATER.

(To the Editor. ) Sir.—What is wrong with tho Palmerston North water supply? It tastes and smells more like cucumber soup than the clean, cool liquid which we associate with water. Children will he drinking this soupy liquid unboiled, and as a citizen I would like to know is the water safe for drinking? Epidemics begin so easily in warm weather such as wo are having now and it is the duty of those in municipal control to see that our drinking water is uncontaminatcd. I trust, sir, that this matter will claim earnest attention, as I am sure that numerous parents are worried over this matter.—l am,etc., DORA ELIOT-COTTON. Cross Street, Palmerston North. January 22, 1938.
