JERSEY BREED.

THE PERIL OF DISEASE. LONDON, Jan. 14. The famous Jersey breed of dairy cattle is threatened by foot, and mouth disease. Cases have been discovered at many places on the island, and all stock movements have been banned. Hitherto it was considered almost impossible for the disease to enter the island. The effect of the ban on stock movements may be disastrous to the island’s industry. Large shipments of prize cattle were due to leave for the United States and Australia within the next fortnight.
