WEDDING.

COTTAM—JOBLIN

A pretty wedding ttok place recently at the Cuba Street Methodist Church when Myrtle Gwendolyne Joblin, daughter of Mrs P. Vining, of Palmerston North and the late Mr Gerald Joblin, of Havelock North, was married to Thomas Cottam, son of Mrs and the late Mr J. Cottam, of Palmerston North. The ceremony was performed by llov. A. Blakemore, and the organist was Mr J. Holmes Runnicks. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Mr A. G. Sutton, of Napier, was charmingly attired in a gown of magnolia satin, cut on classical lines and falling into a graceful fan-shaped train. The softly-cowled neckline was caught with a spray of orange blossom, and the long sleeves, which were pointed over tho hands, were trimmed with tiny buttons. Her beautiful handembroidered tulle veil fell gracefully from a corent of pearls and orange blossom, and a sheaf of Christinas lilies and maidenhair fern completed a charming toilette. The bride was attended by her sister. Miss I. Joblin (chief bridesmaid) and her cousin, Miss D. Vining, who were frocked alike in pale pink satin beaute, cut on slim-fitting lines with trained effect. The square necklines were finished with pale pink roses and the bodice caught with silver lacing. Plaited halos and mittens of pale pink and silver shoes were worn, and each maid carried a sheaf of pink caranations, gladioli and maidenhair fern. _

Mr T. Twigge was best man, Mr C. Sutton, of Napier, groomsman, and Messrs R. Sutton and J. Hoskins, of Palmerston North, were ushers. A reception was afterwards held at the Royale Dutch Lounge, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a navy and red floral frock with navy redingote and hat to match, and carried a posy of red carnations. She was assisted by the mother of the bridegroom wearing a royal blue ensemble with hat to match. She also carried a posy of red carnations.

The wedding cake, which was beautifully decorated, was the gift of the bride's aunt, Mrs A. Timms, of Waipukurau. When Mr and Mrs Cottam left for the south the bride was wearing a smart navy redingote over a navy and white floral frock, with navy hat and accessories to tone. Their future home will be in Palmerston Nox-th.
