FIGHTING ON TERUEL FRONT. REBELS STRIVING FOR CITY. BIG AIR BATTLE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received January 22, 9.55 a.m. BARCELONA, Jan. 21. Shortly before dawn the anti-aircraft guns sent up an intensive barrage to keep off . raiders, who were forced to fly high. They succeeded in dropping only a few bombs on the outskirts of tre city. The heaviest fighting yet experienced on the Teruel front is admitted in a Government statement, which points out that the insurgents have been striving to retake Teruel for over a month. They have accumulated more forces and war material than hitherto concentrated on any front. Over 100 ’planes participated in the air battle yesterday. The statement admits that the rebels have advanced, but at the cost of enormous losses.
