REFUELLING AT HIGH SPEED.

FLYING-BOAT’S TEIALS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Jan. 20. Sir Alan Cobham is co-operating in a series of refuelling in the air tests being carried out over Southampton with the Jlying-boat Cambria. According to reports, when flying at a speed approaching 150 miles an hour the Cambria is refuelled from a low-winged monoplane flying above her, petrol being pumped into her tanks through a special pipeline lowered from the ’plane. It is understood that trials are proving very successful. This is the first trial of refuelling in the air at such a high speed.
