STANDARD OF LIVING. Received January 21, 10.55 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 20. “As the armament work is completed, other work must* be found to replace it,” declared Mr Eden Fisher, presiding at the annual meeting of Barclay’s Bank. He added: “Rearmament must, in the long run, tend to depress the standard of living. Therefore, it is desirable to promote international goodwill and lighten the burden.”
