“You can put an Empire label on New Zealand lamb, but you must not put a New Zealand label on Empire lamb,” said Mr H. H. J. Ricketts, defending the Itoyai Arsenal Co-opera-tive Society, which was fined £1 at ‘Wimbledon for exposing for sale imported meat with a false description. Mr Ricketts said that there was no question of fraud. An inexperienced additional shopman, during the Christmas rush, nad put New Zealand labels on Empire lamb because there were no Empire labels available.
