BIG SUNSPOT.

EFFECT ON RADIO. Received January 20, 1.40 p.m. LONDON, Jan. ID. Tho Daily Telegraph says one of the largest sunspots observed since 1875, when records were begun at the Greenwich Observatory, is now clearly visible in London to the naked eye, on the upper right-hand of the orb as an elongated dark speck. The area is estimated at 3500 million square miles, It is believed the recent difficulties in Empire broadcasts, especially to Canada, have been due to it.
