(From Our Own Correspondent,) APITI. Jan. 20. The tennis courts of the local club, which which have been reconditioned and made as new, were used informally , for tho first time on Saturday last. Owing to so manv members being busy hay-making, an official opening was impossible. Many friendly games wore, enjoyed and Mrs Hooper and Miss M. Osborne (members of the committee) attended to the serving of the lunch with other ladies present. PERSONAL. Mr and Mrs G. H. Gubbins, of Wairoa Beach arc the guests of Mr and Mrs L. Mclntyre. Miss A. Allen, of Palmerston North, is staying with Mr and Mrs C. Stanley.
