FRENCH MINISTRY

M. CHAUTEMPS’S SUCCESS. EIGHTEEN RADICALS CHOSEN. SUPPORT FROM SOCIALISTS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) PARIS, Jan. 18.

M. Chautemps has formed a Cabinet composed of 18 Radicals and two Republican Socialists. It includes the following : Premier, M. CHAUTEMPS. Minister of War. M. DALADIER. Minister for the Navy, M. WILLIAM BERTRAND.

Minister for Air, M. GUY LE CHAMBRE.

Minister of the Interior, M. SARRAUT. Minister for Justice, M. CAMPINCHI.

Minister of Finance, M. MARCH ANDEAU.

Foreign Minister, M. DELBOS. Minister of Commerce, M. PIERRE COT.

Minister Without Portfolio, M. BONNET, who will co-ordinate the financial and economic policy.

All the above are Radicals. Minister Without Portfolio, M. FROSSARD, wlio will deal with social conflicts.

The Radicals, with under-secretary-ships, have 28 posts out of the 33. Although M. Blum’6 Socialist Party is not represented in the Cabinet, their vote in support of the Government was carried by 88 votes to 25 on M. Dormoy’s motion, after M. Blum’s appeal emphasising the dangers of the international and domestic situation, and the Socialists’ tremendous responsibility if France continued without a Cabinet.

M. Chautemps has issued the following statement: “We are facing a heavy task and must ensure that universal suffrage will prevail, maintain the soundness of our finances, and prepare social laws guaranteeing the collaboration of Capital and Labour.” Cabinet immediately began to study M. Chautemps’s draft ministerial programme to be made known in the Chamber on January 21.
