SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISTS.
49th ANNUAL CONFERENCE. The first meeting of the 49th annual conference of Seventh Day Adventists in North Ne\y Zealand commenced last night under ideal circumstances, in the largest hall in the A. and P. Association’s Showgrounds. Between 500 and 600 enthusiastic Adventists from al parts of the North Island occupy 150 tents, and more are expected. ; The address of welcome was given by the president. Pastor R. E. Hare, and he expressed his appreciation of being able to hold the conference in such an ideal city. A stirring address on What Christ s Coining "\Vill Mean to the World thrilled those assembled as they listened to Pastor Robert Hare, one of the official delegates from Australia, and the father of the president. Pastor Hare, senr., preached m Palmerston North fifty years ago, and is of pioneer New Zealand stock. The other official delegates include Pastor E. B. Rudge, vice-president of the Australasian Division, Pastor A. G. Stewart, superintendent of Adventist Missions in the Pacific; Pastor R. H. Tutty, veteran missionary from the Solomon Islands; Pastor S. V. Stratford Union Conference Home Missions Secretary; and Dr C. W. Harrison, medical superintendent of the Sydney Sanitarium and Hospital. ' Stirring and timely addresses on world events in the light of prophecy will be given by able speakers.
