HIGH CROSS DESTROYED, Received January 19, 8.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 18. The well-known racing gelding, High Cross, who was injured in tho racing smash at Canterbury Park on Saturday, was destroyed to-day owing to the disclosure of a broken bone close to the hock.

The jockey, Keith Cook, who rode High Cross, is showing signs of improvement, lie has intervals of consciousness.

GOSFORD RACES. WIN FOR LION HUNT. SYDNEY, Jan. 18. Racing at Gosford to-day, Lion Hunt won the Three and Four-year-old Handicap from Huntsman and Overflow. The Veilmond filly. Lady Eagleton, won the Maiden Two-year-old Handicap.
