WARDERS AT WEDDING.
FRENCH CONVICT MARRIES,
PARIS, Jan. 5.
Preceded by two small boys carrying huge bouquets of roses—and followed by two warders—a smiling young couple were married in a suburb of Fresncs. The man' wore a well-cut blue suit and the woman a smart black velvet frock.
The bridegroom’s present homo is the Fresnes Central Prison, where he is serving a five-year sentence. He is Henri Michon, and was the driver of a postal van from which a bag containing £21,000 in Bank of France notes disappeared. He was tried for theft and was acquitted, hut his luck did not stay with him, for as he was driving his fiancee, Yvonne .Faria, a year ago in a magnificent car, he ran over and killed a woman.
In his pocket the police found a receipt for £3500, deposited in a Belgian bank, and rearrested him. " After his marriage, Michon invited the, warders to visit a cafe and celebrate:- They insisted, however, on taking him Hack to prison, hut gave him time to smoke a cigar before the gates closed’ on- him.
