PERSECUTION OF JEWS.
RITUAL PROHIBITED. LONDON, Jan. 17. The Manchester Guardian’s Vienna correspondent says that the Lord Mayor of Bucharest has made a decree prohibiting the slaughtering of animals according to Jewish ritual. A Warsaw message states that, in view of Rumania’s anti-Jewish policy, Jews emigrating to Palestine from Poland refused to travel via Constanza.
WAY OF ESCAPE. JEWISH EMIGRANTS. Received January 19, 10.20 a.m. BUCHAREST, Jan. 18. Six hundred Jewish families in the province of Bessaradia, have requested the Italian Consulate to facilitate their emigration to Abyssinia to escape the anti Semitic measures, mostly against the professional class.
