ALBURY MYSTERY.
VERDICT AT INQUEST. SYDNEY, Jan. 18. The “pyjama girl” inquest has concluded. Tlie evidence disclosed that the girl, who was unidentified and aged about 25, had a bullet wound in the skull, but death had been caused by a severe blow on the side of the head, fracturing the skull. The Coroner, who held the inquiry at Albury, returned a verdict that death was due to injuries to the skuil, feloniously inflicted by some person or persons unknown. He praised the unremitting elforts of the police to trace the murderer in all countries. N.Z. POLICE PRAISED. Received January 19, 8.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 18. At the inquest, Detective Mcßae, in the course of his evidence, paid a tribute to the co-operation he had received from the New Zealand police in connection with his inquiries. The detectives at Sydney to-night were informed by a man that he had information which would probably throw much light on the “pyjama girl” crime, and, in company with a detective, left immediately for another State, tht- name of which is undisclosed.
A message on January 12 stated: The “pyjama girl” mystery will be carried a stage further next week when an inquest will be held at Albury on the girl whose body, badly burnt and partially clad in pyjamas, was found under a culvert near Albury in September, 1934. About £IO,OOO has been spent in unsuccessful efforts to secure identification of the body.
