CATTLE DISEASE.

£85,000 IN MONTH’S COMPENSATION. Compensation estimated at £85,316 was payable in respect of animals slaughtered on account of foot-and-mouth disease during November, according to figures published in the London Gazette. . . The amount payable for the period November 16 to 30 was £32,590: the figure of the first fourteen days of the month was £52,726. The returns show that in the last two weeks of November the outbreak was confirmed on 24 premises, in 21 parishes.
