The anti-cyclone, which has been controlling the weather over the Dominion for sometime, is now centred east of the North Island. _ A shallow depression with an extension towards the north-west is crossing the South Island. A tropical cyclone is developing in the New Hebrides region. Tne forecast is for . moderate to strong northerly winds turning tonight to southerlies. The weather will he mainly fair, but cloudy and misty with possibly some light rain following the change of wind. The temperature will he cooler. RIVER GAUGE. Noon.—lft lOin.
