ASHHURST MEETING.
RACES ON SATURDAY. Several improvements which will bo greatly appreciated have been made by the Ashhurst-Pohangina Racing Club in readiness for its meeting on Saturday next (Anniversary Day). Excellent fields are engaged, and 'the racing at this popular holiday fixture should bo very intercstThe stewards of the Ashurst Club have arranged to water the track nightly, this week. The facilities provide for a distribution of over 6000 gallons a night, so that the going should be in excellent order for the racing.
