(From Our Own Correspondent.) KOPANE, Jan. 17. On Saturday the Sanson tennis team met the Kopane B team on the local courts. The homo players provod too strong for the visitors by 14 sets to 2. Results are as follow, Sanson playors being mentioned first Women’s singles; Miss J. Butler boat Miss P. Jones, 6 —l; Miss M. Murphy lost to Miss J. Glasgow, 2 Miss Davoy lost to Miss N. Beattie, 4 —6; Mrs Signal lost to Miss M. Morgan, 3 it ten’s singles: A. Lumsden lost to A. Thomson, o—6; R. Meyer lost to V. Nix, 2—6; P. Gcdye lost to J. Thomson, I—6; A. Signal lost to A. Witton, I—6. Women’s doubles; Misses Butler and Murphy lost to Misses Jones and Glasgow, 3—6; Miss Davoy and Mrs Signal lost to Misses Beattie and Morgan, 3—6, Mon’s doubles: Lumsden and Meyer lost to A. Thomson and Nix, I—6; Qodye and Signal lost to J. Thomson and Witton, 3—6. Mixed doubles: Miss Butler and A. Lumsden beat Miss Jones and A. Thomson, 6—4; Miss Murphy and R, Meyer lost to Miss Glasgow and V. Nix, 4 —6: Miss Davcv and P. Gcdyc lost to Miss Beattio and j. Thomson, 3—6; Mrs Signal and A. Signal lost to Miss Morgan and A, Wilton, o—6. Next Saturday the B team will moot Carnarvon. Kopane A were unable to field a team against Sandon A for last dayMr S. B. Morgan, of Napier, spent the week-end with his parents. Owing to the 'long spell of dry weather, the land is very much in need of rain and many people are beginning to experience a shortage of water.
