HOROWHENUA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, Jan. 14. Mr and Dr Afmore, who have been on a lour of the Auckland district, have returned to Otaki. Mr B. H. Rhodes spent the holidays in the Taupo district. Mr K. Howell, of the Otaki Post Office staff, is confined to his bod with an attack of pleurisy. A letter was read at the Otaki Borough Council meeting from the Public Works Department, stating that there was a proposal to establish school bathe at Otaki and that, if the work was carried out, some 30,000 to 40,000 gallons of water would he needed weekly. It was agreed to grant the request.
