FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

LOYAL MANAWATU LODGE. There was a good attendance at the last meeting of the Loyal Manawatu' Lodge, which was presided over by the N.G., Bro. D. S. McNnughton. The lodge was draped in black in memory of the late Bro. F. T. Lovejoy. Bro. Courtnay, of the Loyal Kilbirnie Lodge, was extended the honours of the Order, and suitably replied. Arrangements were made for the annual picnic to be held shortly, and also the visit of the Sister Wallis Lodge, the two functions to be combined and a special lodge meeting held. The amended rules of the Juvenile Lodge were adopted and the new committee and officers appointed. It was decided to issue a challenge to the Wanganui JiOdge for the Salek Sports Cup, the date to be arranged later. After business had been disposed of the evening was brought to a close with supper supplied by the supper stewards.
