AUCKLAND CASE.

FIRST OF ITS KIND. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 14. In the first case of its kind in Auckland, the licensee of a private hospital, Doris Garner Bennett, of Pukekohe, was to-day fined £1 and costs in the Police Court for failing to comply with the requirements of the staffing regulations. Her counsel _ (Mr Grierson) entered a plea of guilty. Mr V. R. Meredith (for the Crown) said defendant one week-end had allowed a midwife, a member of the staff, three days off duty, which made the staff one less than the requirements of the regulation?.
