SPAIN.

(To tlio Editor.) Sir ; —ln ti column letter from the Spanish Relief Committee we note that your correspondent upholds Russian and French intervention in Spain and does not see any inconsistency in condemning German and Italian intervention. He asks why all trades union 'and workers’ organisations are supporting the Spanish Government. They don’t. The Trades Union Council of Britain refused to. “play the Reds’ game.” The Red propaganda has been better than the anti-Rod and those workers who are supporting the Spanish Revolutionary Government do not know the facts. There is no question or denial that the present “Government” of Spain was due t-o a revolutionary’ movement against its predecessors—a movement organised and led by Communists front Russia.' This is not even disputed by the Third Internationa]; in fact there are several Russians in the so-called “Government” in Spain. Your correspondents call for support against the “wave of ancestral barbarism.” We call equally loud for “hands off” in a dispute between Third International Reds and Spanish antiReds. There may be barbarism, but only those who are biassed will assert that it is only on one side. The wav* of Red barbarism which the Third International “Government” instituted was the cause of this" civil war. ' The anti-Reds had to fight or he killed off. —We are, etc., N.Z. WELFARE LEAGUE.
