Miss Joan Barbel - , of Botorua, is Visiting Palmerston North and Wellington. r j Miss A. Grace of Palmerston North, is visiting Auckland. Miss E. lE. Turner, of the staff of the Palmerston North Girls’ High School, will spend the school holidays in Dunedin. Miss M. P. Pridliam, of the staff oi the Palmerston North Girls’ High School, left yesterday for her home in Wellington, where she will spend the school holidays. Miss Doreen Morrow, of Mount Eden, Auckland, is visiting her aunt, Mrs W. H. de Luen, of Palmerston North. Miss C. Gillies has left for her home in Timaru. where she will spend the term holidays' of the Palmerston North Girls’ High School. Miss E. E. D. Smyth, a teacher at the Palmerston North Technical School, will spend the vacation at Lawrence, Otago. Ai“s Mary Clark, of Lower Hutt, and Miss Bonnie Ralston, of Takaka, Nelson, are visiting Palmerston North for the week-end. Miss C. Vautier will be in charge of the Manawatu representative baskets ball team which travels to Auckland to-morrow week to take part in the Dominion tournament. Mr and Mrs R. T. Tidswell have left on a trip to Singapore. They expect to be away for two months. Miss M. AVood, of the Palmerston North Technical School staff, will spend the vacation at Hamilton. Mrs H. Y. AViddowson, of Sumner, Christchurch, who is the guest of Mrs A. C. Gardiner, of Auckland, leaves to-morrow for Palmerston North to visit her son, and returns to Christchurch a week later. Mrs H. hi. Essex and Miss J. Morgan, of the staff of the Palmerston North Technical School, are spending the vacation in Napier. Mr and Mrs B. Sutherland, Ivarori, Wellington, and party have arrived in Japan after an interesting tour of the Straits Settlement and southern China. They are to return to New Zealand via Honolulu.
Alass N. Grant, of the staff of the Palmerston North 'ibuiiiudu 'oni uu ,. left yesterday for her home in Christchurch, where she will spend the term holidays. Misses S. J. Robinson and J. Galvin, of the staff of the Palmerston North Girls’ High School, will also spend the holidays in Christchurch.
The AVaipukurau Ladies’ Golf Club’s annual tournament was won yesterday by Miss A. Tareha, who beat Miss 0. Smith in the final. 5 up and 4 to play. Miss C. AVilson, of Bulls, was beaten in the semi-finals.
The pupils of the Palmerston North Technical School have sent a crystal scent spray, accompanied by their good wishes, to Miss R. Benstead, formerly physical culture instructress at the school and now a member of the staff of the Christchurch Technical College. Miss Cecil Hall, of Auckland, arrives in Palmerston North to-morrow and will adjudicate in the dancing section of the Manawatu Competitions. Other judges who arrive to-morrow are Madame L. Spillane. of AVanganui, judge of vocal music; Mrs lan Cameron. of Masterton, judge of national dancingg and Mrs AV. J. Forsyth, of Dannevirke, who will adjudicate in the elocution classes.
The friends of Miss D. Lampard will be pleased to learn that she is now at Robinson’s Beauty Salon, Broadway Chambers, where she will commence duty on Monday next, August 23.
