ARMY RECRUITS.
30 A DAY ENROLLING. UNEXPECTED VOLUME. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 18. More than 1500 reservists have already notified the Army Record Offices of their desire to rejoin the colours in accordance with the terms of the Government’s offer recently announced by the War Secretary (Dir Hore Belisha). The volume of response at this early date is in excess of the AVar Office’s anticipations. Following the season of military camps, in which many territorials have participated this summer, ordinary recruiting for the regular army is reported to be booming. In London during the last 10 days the staff of the Central Recruiting Depot has been working at high pressure. The intake of recruits has been at the rate of 30 a dav. compared with an average of 10 to 15 a day. All but 10 per cent, of the youths who have enlisted in the period were already in regular employment. 509 MORE REJOIN. (British Official Wireless.) Received August 20, 11.55 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 19. Another 500 Army Reseiwrits have asked to rejoin the colours since the statement was issued yesterday by the AVnr Office that 1500 had already expressed a desire to do so. i
