YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. Business on the. Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday was very brisk and a heavy volumes of trading was recorded. Dealings were well spread and, with few exceptions, the markets had a firm tone. Government loans continued strong and a good turnover in per cents, was recorded, Wellington City debentures, per cent., 1-2-1954, had a sale at £lO4 10s. Chain stores wore less active,' and no dealings ill Woolworlhs (Sydney) were recorded. Woolworths (N.Z.) sold at £5 4s 3d. McKenzies Department- Stores were firm and dealings were made at 87s. Shil lings eased from 20s to 19s 9d. G. J.
