PALESTINE MANDATE.

COMMISSION’S REPORT. (British Official Wireless.) Received August 19, 1.35 p.m. « RUGBY, Aug. 18. The League Mandates Commission to-day adopted its report on the British Palestine proposals for submission to the League Council. - The first part of the report reviews the administration of Palestine in 1935-6, the second deals with tile petitions received by the Commission, and the third sets out the advantages and disadvantages of the different possible schemes for/the future of Palestine. After expressing appreciation of the difficult position in which the Palestine Administration is placed, the Commission is understood to have suggested some varation in the British scheme, but it is anticipated that the report will express no definite opinion on the future of Palestine. It will not lie published until September, when it will be in the hands of members of the League Council.
