The Budget will be introduced very early, probably,” states lit. Hon. M. J. Savage, “.within a week.” The Government is anxious to deal with this, the most outstanding business, at the earliest moment. “Another early item is the continuation of the Fair Rents Bill, which otherwise expires by effluxion of time. . “This law is being overhauled by the Labour Department to see whrit is necessary because the housing trouble is still here and is likely to remain until we catch up with the shortage accumulating for years.” Parliament will also be asked promptly to legislate as a result of the Appeal Court decision on the registration of the Clerical Workers Union. , , ... The Prime Minister was asked if land legislation was on the programme. He replied he could not say yet, but he had mentioned only the most urgent mafters.. He did not think that the universal pensions and health service legislation would be in shape till the New Year, as a large amount of information and many alternative proposals must be reviewed by the Cabinet. , There would bo an adjournment early in December and tbe House would resume, probably about the middle or February.

Advice of the reopening of Parliament on September 9 has been received by Mr J. Hodgens, M.P., from the Prime Minister.
