(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 17.

The cost of living on July 31 was approximately 55 per cent, above the level of July, 1914. For food only the average percentage increase was 40. There has been no change during the month in the average levels, hut there lias been a substantial rise since August 1936, when the percentage rise, compared with 1914, was 46 for all items and 20 lor food only.
