NEWS FROM BERLIN
STAND BY LONDON TIMES. .WILL FIGHT RESTRICTION. CRITICISE WHEN NECESSARY. (United Press Association—By Electric, Telegraph—Copyright.) Received August 18, 11.55 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 17. With reference to its representation in Berlin, the Times states that Mr Ebbutt, whose transfer the German Government demands, was about to depart oil leave, when the hubbub began. The usual arrangements had already been made for carrying on the work of his office during his holiday, and tlieso temporary arangements stand.
In the meanwhile the Times assures its readers that no correspondent will ever be sent to Berlin under the restrictions apparently desired by the German authorities, and German activities, for good or evil, will continue to be faithfully recorded and, if necessary, criticised.
