WATERSIDE DISPUTE.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 17. To-night it was announced that no agreement has been arrived at in connection with the clauses in dispute between the Wellington AVaterside Workers’ Union and the shipping companies regarding the working of the bureau system of engaging and employing waterside labour. The matters in dispute have been the subject of negotiation between the parties concerned for some time, but no agreement has been reached. It now appears that, apart from the ships working with previously-engaged labour, fhere may be a hold-up if members of the union adhere to the decision not to accept new engagements tomorrow.
