SHIP TORPEDOED.

SEVERAL OF CREW LOST. Received August 18, 10.5 a.m. ALGIERS, Aug. 17. The captain of the Spanish steamer Conde de Abasolo upon bis arrival in the British 6teamer City of Wellington with 23 of tho crew, declared tlia.t an Italian destroyer torpedoed his ship off the island of Pantelleria, killing several of the crew. Seventeen .are missing, the remainder having been picked up the following morning by the Citv of Wellington. The captain adds that an Italian aeroplane flew over the slap two days before the attack.
