MISSING SAFE.

FOUND NEAR WAIHI. Per Press Association. WAIHI, Aug. 18. The sequel to the removal of a safe containing books, documents and a small amount in-silver from the premises of Mr J. Whitehead, boot importer, on the evening of August 6, was the discovery yesterday of the safe, completely wrecked by explosives, in Ford Road,*about two miles from the township. The safe was well hidden by heavy growth, a few feet off the road. The books and documents were intact, and threepenny bits to the value of 3s were found in different parts of the wreck. The gain to the wreckers would probably be not more than 12s.
