OBITUARY.
MISS' JESSIE H. COLES. The death of Miss Jessie Harriet Coles, who passed away at the residence of her sister, Mrs N. E. Gifford. Feilding, yesterday, removes one whose family was well-known anti highly respected in the Feilding and Manawatu districts in tlie earlier days. Her parents wore the late Mr and Mrs Arthur Coles, who removed from Feilding to Gisborne some 16 years ago, the deceased taking up her residence with them a vear or two later. Gn the death of "her mother last January she came to reside in Feilding, again, but had not enjoyed very good health during the past six months. The late Miss Coles, who was of a quiet and retiring disposition, had by her many acts of kindness endeared herself to all with whom she came in. contact. There remain to mourn her passing her younger sister. Mrs N. E. Gilford, Messrs Walter Coles, of Wanganui, and Albert Coles, of Wellington, and friends in Gisborne and Feilding. The funeral took place to-day; a short service was held at the residence, and was conducted hv Rev. J. Sylvester, of the Methodist Church, who also officiated at the graveside.
