Instancing tho incidence of rising costs Mr W. C. Glovii,-chairman of directors ot the Rongotea Co-opi Dairy Co., stated at tho annual meeting yesterday that boxes alone had rost £1661 9s 7d more for the vear. As the cost of boxes was under tlie control of the Equalisation Committee arranged by tho Government, companies had no say in the price they had to pay. One thing which was increasing the cost ot boxes was that white ' pine had to he brought from the West Ccast of the South Island as most of tho North Island timber had been cut out. The, company was endeavouring to combat the increased price for the coming year by using a fibrous container for the local market. Those containers cost about one-Uiird tlie price of the wcoden box.
