WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.
YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. Trading- was very active oil the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, particularly in chain store issues, and a substantial volume of business ivas recorded. Apart from a few financial and insurance shares, dealings were confined almost wholly to industrial and trading issues. Shillings, Ltd., firmed to dealings at 21s and 20s following tho announcement of the negotiations with MacdufTs, McKenzies Department Stores cased 9d to 86a 9d. Woolworths Ltd., after touching 156 17s, were quieter yesterday when an odd lot sold al £6 14s 6d. Broken Hill Proprietary were firmer and sales were made at up to 84s 9d. Iluddart Parker ordinaries hardened to business at 40s 3d. Gear Moat again went at 18s 9d. Government loans, wore 'fully firm on n strong demand, supplies being very scarce.
