TAIKOREA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) TAIKOREA, Aug. 17. Before a largo number of spectators the Glen Oroua-Taikorea Ilugby team met Bainessc-Rangiotu at Taikorea for tlie final gamo of the season. The game was a very even one, and although the Bainesse-Rangi-otu team held play in black and white territory most of the first half the local defences held and half-time came with no score. On the resumption each side was determined to score, and there was a very neat piece of play by Bob Murphy, who came through to intercept a pass and beat the opposition to score under the posts; Reg Mudford converted, making the score 5-nil. Several times Boh Murphy got away with the ball, but missed scoring, as his forwards failed to follow up. After a hard tussle on both sides the game ended, Tai-korea-Glcn Orona 5, Rangiotu-Baincssc nil. Mr Roy Algar was the referee. After the game, Mr Biirmcister presented the Penny Banner to the winners, Taikoroa-Glen Orona, and to the runners-up. RangiotuBaiuesse, the runers-up cup. A pleasant surprise was given Mr Parlano, head teacher at Glen Orona. and coach of the combined team, when Reg Mudford presented him with a handsome book from tno team in appreciation of his work.
