POWDER EXPLOSION.

TWO YOUNG MEN BURNED. Per*Press Association. TIMARU, Aug. 17. Two young men, William Rose and William Gould, both aged 19, were extensively burned about the face when a box of blasting powder exploded. They were engaged in blasting trees at Hazelburn, when one flicked ash from a cigarette and about 141 b of powder exploded. Both wore admitted to hospital but are making good progress.
